Dive into 1ER MAI's 5th fashion show at M.A.D. Festival - August 20th, 2026

For its fifth runway show, 1ER MAI immerses us in a world in transformation, shaped by an element as vital as it is unpredictable: water. An essential source of life as well as a destructive force, it reminds us of the fragility of our human condition and our profound connection to nature.

Throughout this collection, the notions of survival, resilience, and adaptability take center stage. They evoke the individual and societal challenges we face and the resulting metamorphoses.

True to its approach, 1ER MAI continues its exploration using reclaimed materials, transformed through craft techniques such as weaving, patchwork, quilting, macramé, and beading, thus celebrating the artisanal gesture as a sensitive act of resistance.

Upcycled, craft based slow fashion made in Canada

1ER MAI garments are crafted from deadstock materials, promoting a sustainable and ethical approach. Every step of the process – from design to pattern-making, cutting, and sewing – is carried out entirely by me, Ysaline Lannes, in my Montreal atelier.
